Eligibility
– Must possess the skills of an orchestral musician.
– Students (including graduate and research students) must submit a sealed letter of recommendation from one instructor.
– Must be able to communicate in everyday Japanese.

Timpani: Hardtke Dresden Classic Berlin pedal system (Natural Skin, German Style)
Lefima Ernest Concert Timpani Berlin pedal system (‘Berlin’ Natural Skin, American Style)
*Mallets must be brought by the applicant.
*Reverse pedal setup available.
*Timpani model can be selected on the day.
*Heads may be changed from natural skin due to unavoidable circumstances.

For those who pass the first audition.
Orchestral Studies: Sections announced on the day
*Performance with piano accompaniment under conductor’s direction.
*Sheet music will be sent after the application deadline.
*Same instruments as the first audition.
<Third Audition>
For those who pass the second audition.
Engage in orchestra performance duties as a contracted member for 6 months.
*Begins within 3 months after the second audition.
<Interview>
For those who pass the third audition.
Audition Results Notification
Preliminary Screening: Only successful candidates will be contacted by phone on April 7 (Tue).
First Audition: Results will be sent via email on April 8 (Wed), regardless of pass or fail.Second Audition: Results will be sent via email by April 20 (Mon), regardless of pass or fail.
Important Notes
- Accompanist for the second audition will be provided by the orchestra.
- Inquiries regarding selection results will not be accepted.
- All expenses for participation in the auditions are the applicant’s responsibility.
- Submitted data will not be returned. Resumes will be used only for the audition and discarded afterward.
- Applicants studying abroad or residing overseas must provide a contact address in Japan.
Compensation
According to orchestra regulations. Includes social insurance and transportation allowance.
